The Chester E. Peters Lectures in Student Development Series was established in 1983. Kansas State University, in cooperation with the College of Education, named the lecture series after Chet Peters in recognition of his contributions to K-State students and the student affairs profession. The 2025 Chet Peters lecture will be given by Dr. Hugo García, an Associate Professor of Higher Education at Texas Tech University, and is titled "Under What Conditions? Increasing Positive Educational Outcomes for Students of Color Throughout the Educational Pipeline.”
