Dr. Karl Rich will present “Advances in socioeconomic approaches to assess animal disease impacts: examples from the developing world," during the Agricultural Economics Seminar Series. 

Karl Rich is Director of the Master of International Agriculture Program and Professor of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University. Prior to coming to Oklahoma State University, Dr. Rich spent 16 years overseas working with a number of international organizations, universities, and research institutes, including the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and Lincoln University in New Zealand. His research combines participatory processes and systems thinking to address issues of agribusiness development and animal health mitigation policies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and graduate degrees (M.S., Ph.D.) in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
