“Becoming Trauma Responsive” is a documentary devoted to the effects of trauma on behavior, learning, and developing relationships.

The College of Education will be hosting “Becoming Trauma Responsive” followed by a panel discussion of documentary key contributors:

Ann Thomas, President/CEO of The Children’s Place, is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, adjunct professor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Ann Thomas brings extensive experience in mental health and trauma.

Dr. Rebeca Chow, is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Missouri/Kansas and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Her counseling experience includes 20 years of clinical work in the non-profit, private practice settings and academia.

Dr. Jessica Lane, Counseling Programs Coordinator and Associate Professor in Counseling, Special Education and Student Affairs at Kansas State University, brings experience and expertise in the areas of trauma, social-emotional learning, P-12 teaching and school counseling.

Rusty Earl, Video Producer for the College of Education at Kansas State University, and director of the film Becoming Trauma Responsive. Rusty is a former secondary teacher and documentary film maker for the past 10 years.
