A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ms. Sanders currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Prior to this she was the Acting Office Director for South Sudan and Sudan in Washington DC where she and her team developed, coordinated, and implemented policies to advance national security priorities. Her service record includes her work as the Public Affairs Chief in the third largest consulate in the Western Hemisphere in Sao Paulo (Brazil), as a consular officer in South Korea, Editor-in-Chief of the flagship U.S. Embassy publication in India, and as an Information Officer for Press and Media in Indonesia - just to name a few.
Ms. Sanders received her B.A. in Political Science and Geography from Kansas State University, a Master’s in Education specializing in Organizational Development and Human Resources from the University of Georgia, as well as a Master’s Degree in National Security Strategy with a concentration in Emerging Information Technology from the National War College.
