We'll share some tips for engaging in Civil Discourse and then practice them in small groups. The group encourages people with a wide range of opinions to participate. We're not here to change your mind. Our goal is to find ways to discuss political topics while maintaining relationships.
Proposed discussion group topics for September are:
* Is democracy in the US under threat? If so, what threats cause you the most concern? What democratic values are you most concerned about?
* Abortion has been a heated political and legal topic in the US for decades. Is it time to settle this once and for all? What values or personal experience influence your beliefs?
* What do you see as the purpose of the US immigration system? What isn't working and requires improvement? How does this impact you, your community and the nation?
