Categorical 2-associahedra of Bottman are curious posets that play the role of associahedra for 2-categories. Topologically they compactify moduli spaces of vertical lines that also carry some points. I will present the velocity fan construction from our ongoing project with Spencer Backman and Nathaniel Bottman - we realize 2-associahedra as complete fans. For usual associahedra and multiplihedra, our constructions specialize to those of Loday and Forcey.
