Prepare yourself

Training includes: Disaster Medical, Light Search and Rescue and other skills such as being able to turn off your gas and power to protect your home. You will practice with various types of fire extinguishers and learn how to safely lift large debris off someone who is trapped.
Prepare to help others
Once you and your family are taken care of you can help others in the area or neighborhood. You'll learn how to work as a team to check for victims after a disaster and help them until the first responders arrive.
