The School of Music, Theatre and Dance has designated the Purple Masque Theatre as the new home for the KSU Jazz Program. Under the direction of Wayne Goins (University Distinguished Professor of Jazz Studies) and Kurt Gartner (Professor of Percussion) the jazz concerts for big bands, Latin jazz, and small combos will be held at the West Memorial Stadium, located directly behind the KSU Alumni Center and across from St. Isidore’s Church at the corner of Denison and Anderson Avenue. Although the previous concerts were traditionally held in the K-State Student Union at Forum Hall for free admission, all KSU Jazz concerts will now be held in the Purple Masque Theatre, with tickets purchased at $10 for attendance. All events will also be catered by JP’s, along with a cash bar. Open seating will be available, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Their first performance will be the KSU Jazz Combos on Wednesday, April 30, followed by Big Bands on Thursday May 1.
