Join K-State Libraries and the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Carpentries Collective (KAC²) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 5-9, 2024, for a Data Carpentry for Genomics workshop. This free, in-person workshop will be held in Hale Libraryroom 359. Registrants may attend all days or selected days. For days 1, 2, 3, 4, each individual day can be taken separately; for day 5, each lesson could be taken separately.

K-State affiliates who do not already have a BeoCat account should request one by July 30. Additional information about requesting a BeoCat account for the workshop will be provided to registrants.

Carpentries workshops develop fundamental data skills needed to conduct research. Its target audience is researchers who have little to no prior computational experience, and its lessons are domain-specific, building on learners' existing knowledge to enable them to quickly apply skills to their own research. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.
