Digital Accessibility for the College of Arts and Sciences (STEM focused event) - Kansas State University Events

Join us for a hands-on Digital Accessibility Workshop tailored just for faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences!

 

Whether you're new to accessibility or already familiar with the basics, this session will help you take real steps toward creating a more inclusive online course experience. This workshop is for the digital content used in both online and in-person classes. We suggest bringing your own laptop to work.

 

All are welcome, but this session will focus on STEM example:

  • Alternative text for complex images and instructional narratives
  • Accessible data tables in documents
  • Math in the Rich Content Editor of Canvas

What to Expect:

  • Learn the why and how of digital accessibility from understanding the importance of accessibility and how to implement it effectively.
  • Improve your Ally score quickly! Many of the biggest improvements you can make are some of the easiest and fastest.
  • Receive personalized guidance from accessibility experts.
  • Ensure your course materials are compliant with accessibility guidelines.
  • Walk away with practical tips, tools, and confidence. You’ll gain actionable strategies and resources to continue improving accessibility in your courses.
