Come celebrate Earth Day at Students for Environmental Action (SEA)'s annual celebration. This year there will be educational activities, give-aways, bike checks, a tree planting demonstration and even free lunch hosted by a wide variety of Student Organizations, Community Groups and more!
Participating Groups:
Aboriculture Class will provide information about trees including planting and care and will be doing a tree planting demonstration around 10:45.
Bike Tek will be providing bike safety inspections, pumping tires, lubricating changis and sharing info about basic bike maintenance and in-town biking spots/tips.
Ecology Club will have ecology-based educational activities.
Ecumenical Campus Ministry (ECM) will provide free vegan burritos from Frita's Mexican Cuisine.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will information on EPA’s efforts to address Children's Health, Climate Change, Environmental Justice, and Environmental Education.They can also talk to students about EPA’s Pathways Program which can be a gateway for recent graduates to enter government service.
Environmental Science Program will share information about their B.S. degree and share ideas of simple commitments for positive change.
Flint Hills Renewable Energy & Efficiency Cooperative will have a mini solar panel.
Food Science Club will have info about smart-agroindustry and green processing techniques, physical examples of environmentally friendly food packaging and more.
Painting Society will be selling prints of paintings and doing live en plein air watercolor painting
Soil and Water Conservation Society will be showing different microorganisms and management in prairie and agricultural soil
Sunset Zoo will have infomation about their conservation efforts and pelts, skulls, and more to check out.
U.S. Green Building Council will have a plantable card-making station
Wildlife Society will be selling t-shirts and stickers
ALTERNATIVE LOCATION FOR WEATHER WILL BE IN THE STUDENT UNION COURTYARD
