1712 Claflin Rd Manhattan KS 66506-5500

#ksuplantpathology

This seminar by Sophie Westbrook, PhD, will explore the balance between beneficial and problematic plant species within agricultural ecosystems, emphasizing the role of management practices. The presentation will cover several projects, including a two-year study on the effects of perennial flower strips, a one-year experiment with annual flower strips on commercial farms, and the impact of white-tailed deer on plant communities in abandoned crop fields. Additionally, ongoing research on invasive weed adaptation and strategies to enhance plant community composition in rangelands will be discussed.
