About this Event
Ever thought about talking to people across town—or across the world—without cell service or the internet? Amateur radio (ham radio) makes it possible. To join the ham radio community, the FCC requires you to earn a license, and we’re making it easy.
Kansas State University’s Amateur Radio Club (W0QQQ) is hosting an official FCC exam session in K-State's Hale Library. Whether you’re a student curious about wireless tech, a maker interested in electronics, or someone who just wants to be part of a global community of communicators, this is your chance to get started.
✅ No prior experience required
✅ Study resources available ahead of time
✅ Open to students, staff, and community members
Come take your first step into the world of amateur radio!
First time FCC license fees cost $35. All other charges (testing, upgrades, etc.) will be sponsored by an anonymous club member!
