DESCRIPTION:This online workshop is for food system partners\, farmers\, an
 d food businesses to gain some basic grant writing skills to support their
  activities. \n\nThis online course is two synchronous classes. The class 
 resource materials are available the week before and several weeks afterwa
 rds.\n\nEnrollment is limited for each class\, but we want to meet all nee
 ds\; if the class is filled\, please register on the waiting list.\n\nThis
  Grant Writing Basics course consists of two (3-hour) online live sessions
  with many additional resources. Time for interaction with other participa
 nts is an important aspect of the class\; even experienced grant writers p
 ick up tips and are reenergized after consulting with peers. The course is
  suited for people who have never written a grant (50% of our audience)\, 
 as well as those who have a lot of experience and want to take a fresh loo
 k at their current practices. This online course is adapted from a highly 
 rated face-to-face training with proven results. More than 2\,600 Kansans 
 have been trained and found confidence and skills\, resulting in at least 
 $52 million of successful grants for playgrounds\, park improvements\, wal
 king trails\, building restoration\, leadership programs\, arts\, programm
 ing\, festivals\, and other community infrastructure.\n\nParticipants are 
 encouraged to bring their grants or grant ideas to share. The format of th
 e class allows a writer to formulate their grant ideas into a grant propos
 al\, if they are ready.\n\nClasses are recorded for later reference or cla
 sses missed.\n\nYou will learn:\n\nSources of data for community needsWher
