The Department of Anatomy and Physiology is excited to invite you to the Inaugural Coppoc One-Health Lecture at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Auditorium at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. The auditorium is located between Trotter and Mosier halls.

Dr. Mark Hutchinson, professor at Adelaide Medical School, The University of Adelaide, will present “Pain in 4D: The Journey from the Nanoscale to Systems Biology Impact.” Please see the attachment for more details about Dr. Hutchinson’s impressive background and career accomplishments.

The Coppoc Lecture Series was established through the generosity of Dr. Gordon and Harriet Coppoc. Gordon received his BS in Animal Science from KSU in 1961 and his DVM in 1963. He was awarded his PhD in Pharmacology from Harvard in 1968 and later joined the faculty at Purdue/Indiana School of Medicine in 1973.

In 1979, he served as Department Head of Physiology and Pharmacology at Purdue and taught pharmacology to both veterinary and medical students. In 1998, he was appointed Assistant Dean of the IU School of Medicine and Director of the Lafayette Center for Medical Education at Purdue. In 2004, he received the KSU CVM Alumni Recognition Award.
