https://www.redbarnstudio.org/Muralist Jennifer Weigel, from McPherson, will be in residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum from November 6-December 3. Weigel has contributed to several public art projects, such as murals in Newton. During her residency, Weigel will explore Raymer's themes, focusing on eyes, faces, and other intricate details. Coloring pages inspired by Lester Raymer's toys are but one aspect she will incorporate into her residency. Weigel will also celebrate the beauty of Kansas by incorporating Raymer's work into her own sunflower-themed drawings. Visitors can expect to see her life studies of objects in the Red Barn Studio, drawn with her unique and whimsical touch. Making art accessible and fun for everyone, Weigel's coloring pages will be available during the Holiday Open House on November 9 at Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center. Make sure to stop at 114 1/2 S. Main Street to participate in the fun! View more of Weigel's work on her website (jenniferweigelart.com/). The Red Barn Studio Museum is located at 212 S. Main Street. The museum is open Tuesday-Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm and Saturday-Sunday, 1:00-5:00pm. The Raymer Society's Artist-in-Residence program is sponsored in part by the Kansas Creative Arts Industry Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
