K-State/KARA Summer Diagnostic School - Kansas State University Events

These dates are tentative. However, there will be two, two-day sessions available the week of the Diagnostic School. Registration information will be coming from Extension Agronomy.

The Summer Diagnostic School is a two-day, in-field event to learn about diagnosing production problems in the field.  The topics discussed include weeds: weed identification, weed control and herbicide symptomology; soil fertility (nutrient deficiency symptoms, collecting a soil sample); crop growth and development; diseases (disease identification, disease control), insects (insect identification, insect control, impact on beneficial insects); crop residue management; soil health.

Objectives of these sessions will include: Learn to identify production problems in the field

  • Learn to identify production problems in the field.
  • Learn about current hot topics in crop production.
  • Become familiar with crop production throughout Kansas.
  • Learn about K-State resources for diagnosing field problems.
  • Learn about current crop production research at K-State.
