April 12 is our own state's version of the September National Voter Registration day - an important reminder to check your Kansas voter registration status.  Why now?  Because coming up AUGUST 2 is both a Primary election in Kansas and a special Constitutional Amendment question will be on the ballot as well!  This is a good time to check your status online at  https://sos.ks.gov/elections/voter-information.html or with your phone at KSVOTES.ORG and if you are changing your address or name, make that update now, as well as a plan.  Early voting is encouraged, but you must request a mail-in ballot in advance and be aware of the window of opportunity to receive and turn it in.  Walk-in early voting is also available, but know your polling place and the rules at your county election office.  Listen to the KMAN interview with Keirn Kinnan, president of Wildcats Vote, and Tim Shaffer and Donna Schenck-Hamlin of the Institute for Civic DIscourse and Democracy.  K-Staters VOTE!
