About this Event
Sarah Hancock, Community HealthCare System
noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11
As the communications manager at Community HealthCare System, Sarah Hancock manages the strategic communications plans for the northeast Kansas health care system. Throughout her career, Hancock has gained extensive experience in communicating science and health-related issues, including in her past roles as a communications coordinator for the Office of the Vice President for Research at K-State and as a writer and editor of multiple publications.
Hancock will reflect on her experiences communicating about health care issues during a pandemic. She will discuss some of the challenges she has encountered as a communicator during the COVID-19 outbreak in Kansas and how she has navigated these challenges over the past months. Hancock’s presentation will provide important lessons learned for communicators that have to tackle controversial issues of high public interest.
Please register to attend by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10.
This event is part of the fourth-annual Science Communication Week presented by the Kansas Science Communication Initiative.
