M-seminar: Exceptional collections on arithmetic varieties
Speaker: Matthew Ballard (University of South Carolina)
Abstract: The simplest way to capture the derived category of coherent sheaves on an algebraic variety is via an exceptional collection. In this talk, we will turn our attention to varieties over general fields and describe a Galois descent result for full exceptional collections. We will use arithmetic toric varieties as source of examples and questions. Hopefully the audience will provide the A-side version of the story. This talk is based on joint with work with A. Duncan and P. McFaddin.
