The Geographic Information Systems Spatial Analysis Laboratory and Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics will host a series of hands-on GIS workshops for the K-State community during the Fall 2025 semester. All workshops will take place from 9:00-11:00 am in Seaton 3014A. Participants should arrive 10 minutes early to facilitate setup.
Skill Level: Beginner
This introductory workshop explores the fundamentals of web mapping using K-State's ArcGIS Online cloud-based GIS portal. Participants will learn how to create, customize, and share interactive web maps that communicate spatial information effectively to diverse audiences. The session covers key concepts such as data publishing, map styling, layer configuration, and embedding maps into websites or applications. This workshop is ideal for those new to GIS or looking to expand their skills into cloud-based mapping and visualization.
Advance registration is required and workshops are limited to 30 participants. Desktop computers will be provided, but personal laptops may also be used. Laptops should have ArcGIS Pro 3.4 installed prior to each workshop.
