Middle school students are invited to Kansas State University’s Manhattan campus for a special day of interactive workshops with mathematics faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students in celebration of Sonia Kovalevsky Day. Participants will take part in hands-on activities through a series of engaging workshops on exciting mathematical topics, including:

  • Using networks and solving puzzles in “Winning the Dollar Game”
  • Learning how secret messages are created and cracked in “Spy Game: Shadow at the Museum”
  • Exploring the binary number system in “Change Maker: The Magic of Binary Coins”

This event offers middle-school students a fun and inspiring opportunity to experience the creativity, problem-solving, and real-world applications of mathematics in a welcoming university setting.
