Saturday, November 16, (12-1:30 PM) will mark K-State Modern Languages' and the Manhattan Public Library's first Mock Pura Belpré Picture Book Award, where we will view, discuss, and vote on the best Latinx picture books of 2024. We have versions of all books in English so everyone can participate. We're hoping to guess winners before January when the American Library Association announces Pura Belpré Awards given to "a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth." 

We'll finish up with snacks and drinks (1:30-2:30 PM) and the Deptartment of English's Mock Caldecott will immediately follow. All activities are free and open to the public at the Manhattan Public Library.
