Movies on the Grass is back this year with three exciting films related to K-State’s First Year Book, “Deaf Utopia” by Nyle DiMarco. This is a free event for K-State and the Manhattan community. Movies on the Grass highlights the annual K-State common read and brings light to social justice issues impacting the world today. Come learn and grow with us as we learn in community about Deaf culture through our featured films.

Come to Town Hall in Leadership Studies at 6:30pm on September 8th for our first film of the series. Film will begin at 6:30pm, with a speaker before at 6:00pm.

September 8th’s film is “CODA”:

"As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." (CODA)
