Aleksey Sheshukov, associate professor of biological and agricultural engineering, will give a public lecture at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, in 231 Ackert Hall as part of the NRES Seminar Series.

Sheshukov will discuss water quality conditions in Kansas streams and lakes, various water impairments and their causes, and watershed management strategies to reduce nonpoint sources of water pollution. He will also touch on challenges in management, adaptations to climate variability and change, land-use changes in rural and urban areas, and partnerships between local stakeholders, state agencies and academic institutions that affect policymaking decisions.

This talk is being presented for students participating in the capstone course of the Natural Resources and Environmental Science (NRES) Secondary Major and is open to the general public as part of the NRES Seminar Series. Undergraduate students interested in natural resources, environmental science, and sustainability issues are especially encouraged to attend.
