Meeting is designed to address northeast Kansas small ruminant parasite and predator management.  K-State Research and Extension units from across northeast Kansas will be hosting the annual Sheep and Goat School in Troy on March 12th, to discuss this topic and more.

This meeting will feature two speakers and presentations to help those involved in small ruminant production on management strategies for parasites and predators. Parasites and predators pose challenges for sheep and goat producers requiring more intensive management strategies than other livestock species. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm with registration. Dr. Kelsey Bentley, K-State University Small Ruminant Extension Specialist, will speak on parasites and management strategies for sheep and goat producers at 6:30 pm. The second speaker, Dr. Drew Ricketts, K-State Wildlife Extension Specialist will present beginning at 7:30 pm on managing predation when raising small ruminants.
