Join us for the third annual Nestbox Academy (formerly Bluebird Academy)!  Learn how nestboxes benefit a diverse range of birds, from vibrant warblers and playful martins to shy titmice and even birds of prey. Learn monitoring techniques, explore advanced topics, and contribute to habitat conservation. Join us as we prepare for another nesting season!  At Nestbox Academy, you will learn what we can do to protect and provide safe nesting places for cavity-nesting birds in our area.  

To set the stage for the presentations at this event, Dr. Jackie Augustine, Audubon of Kansas Executive Director and our Keynote Speaker, will tell us why birds around the globe need our help.  A recent study revealed that we have lost one in four individual birds since 1970, amounting to nearly 3 billion birds. However, not all species declined and some habitats experienced more declines than others. Dr. Augustine will explain how this was estimated, describe trends in the data with respect to species and habitats, and share ways you can help prevent further losses in your own neighborhood and with your nestboxes.
