About this Event
Dr. Arvinder Sandhu, a professor of physics and optical sciences at the University of Arizona, will present a physics colloquium titled "Probing electron dynamics with table-top and compact XFEL sources".
Sandhu's research group focuses on several cutting-edge areas of physics and optical sciences. Their work involves developing and applying new attosecond spectroscopy techniques to study and control correlated electron dynamics in real-time. This includes investigating the interplay between electrons and atomic nuclei in molecules, as well as many-body interactions in low-dimensional nanomaterials. Additionally, his group uses tunable strong-field light waveforms and nonlinear interactions to modify the electronic properties of atoms, molecules, and nanosystems.
Refreshments will be served prior to the talk at 4:15 pm in 119 Cardwell Hall.
