Title:  R-matrix presentation of orthogonal and symplectic quantum loop algebras

Abstract: In this talk I will present an R-matrix approach to quantum loop algebras associated with the simple Lie algebras of orthogonal and symplectic types. One of the main advantages of the R-matrix approach over the Drinfeld new presentation is that both untwisted and twisted cases can be considered seamlessly with no extra effort. I will also discuss challenges and advantages of the R-matrix approach in proving the PBW theorem and constructing highest-weight representations, and rediscovering the classical results of Chari and Pressley.
