Rep Theory and Math Physics Seminar: The Extended Toda and Non-Linear Schroedinger Hierarchies

Abstract: We study the integrable system which is related a Dubrovin–Frobenius manifold of rank 2 whose genus expansion D at a special point controls enumeration of a higher genera generalization of the Catalan numbers. In particular, we will give a Hirota bilinear equation for this D and show that this leads to a Lax formulation of both the Carlet-Dubrovin-Zhang Extended Toda Hierarch and to the extended Non-Linear Schroedinger hierarchy. This is based on joint work with Guido Carlet, Hessel Posthuma and Sergey Shadrin.
