Tailgate Talk - Managing Invasive Bluestems

Think ‘bluestem’, and native grasses like Big and Little Bluestem come to mind. Unfortunately, invasive bluestem species like Broomsedge & Old World Bluestems – plus other troublesome grasses - have increased in our forage acreages as well. Their quality is poor and ability to spread is high, making good management a key to maintaining production in cool AND warm season pasture systems.
Join K-State Extension Range Management Specialist Dr. Walt Fick and Area NRCS Rangeland Management Specialist Dustin Schwandt to hear about management strategies to combat these species.  Click here for more information or contact David Hallauer at dhallaue@ksu.edu or 785-364-4125.
