About this Event
See the first public reading of K-State Theatre major Emmett Spaw's original comedy, The Well-Lit Shadow.
Following the dropping of the atomic bomb, America is plunged into a frenzy of Cold War paranoia. And as Dwight D. Eisenhower ascends to the presidency, he finds himself at the helm of a nation polarized by the absurdity of nuclear diplomacy. But as exponential escalation and communist conspiracies pull the president ever closer to his wit’s end, he discovers that the true evil lies closer than he thinks.
Produced in collaboration with the Eisenhower Presidential Library for the America 250 celebration, this dark comedy explores the classic American pastime: Fear.
Content Disclosure: The Well-Lit Shadow contains references to nuclear war and minimal cursing.
