Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar
Research Experiences (Off Campus) and NSF Fellowships
Marianne Korten, KSU
Abstract: During this semester you will hear many talks about the opportunities that will be available to you as you deepen your studies. I want to address opportunities that may be 1 to 3 years in the future for you. Some of these opportunities are more specialized but more rewarding. I will talk about REUs, but more about semesters off campus such as the MASS and Math in Budapest programs (because I mentored students that used them). I will also talk about NSF fellowships for graduating seniors and beginning graduate students. Most of you have time before these opportunities become important in your career, but we may not have another chance to show you these things.
Dr. Marianne Korten is a Full Professor of Mathematics at Kansas State University.
