Join us for a gathering to discuss and enjoy Yerba Mate, a traditional South American beverage.

Carlos Hernandez, an agronomist engineer from Rio Cuarto, Argentina, will lead the event. Carlos is passionate about Mate and often enjoys it with a sweet cookie or a salty snack. He sometimes brings Mate to class to share with his friends.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a Mateada (a special tea ceremony) in Spanish. This will be followed by a talk in Spanish about the Yerba Mate drink at 10:30am with a Q&A in English and Spanish after the talk.

Sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and the Dow Center for Multicultural and Community Studies.
